Impostare il campo per inserire automaticamente il timestamp su AGGIORNAMENTO?

Perché non impostare le proprietà per quel campo come:

DEFAULT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP 
ON UPDATE CURRENT_TIMESTAMP;
