Impossibile connettersi a mongoDB locale da java

Ho eseguito il tuo codice sul mio server MongoDB (in esecuzione) e posso vedere lo stesso errore. Quello che mi ha colpito è che l'errore dice "In attesa di 30000 ms prima del timeout", ma il codice viene completato in molto meno di 30 secondi. Questo dà un suggerimento su quale sia il problema.

Ricorda che questo è asincrono, quindi non puoi aspettarti che tutte le operazioni vengano eseguite in sequenza sullo stesso thread. Quello che sta realmente accadendo è il main il metodo sta terminando prima del termine della chiamata al database.

Se modifichi il tuo codice per attendere che i risultati tornino prima di terminare, otterrai un risultato molto più ragionevole.

A proposito, il codice può essere ulteriormente semplificato, soprattutto perché dici che stai usando Java 8:
