Funzione con valori di tabella e valori scalari Funzione per un valore di ritorno singolo

La mia discussione con Jonatha Dickinson (guarda la sua risposta) mi ha portato a fare alcuni rapidi test:

Viene fuori che la sottoselezione scalare pura, incorporata non è così male. Interrogare solo un valore è anche il più veloce . Come previsto, la funzione scalare è pessima. Più campi vengono restituiti dal TVF, migliore è il guadagno relativo alle prestazioni.

L'unica risposta certa è:La funzione scalare è la peggiore e un TVF multi-linea è, il più delle volte, più lento di quello in linea. Qualsiasi approccio ad hoc tende a essere più veloce .

Ma potrei impostare casi speciali per tutte le situazioni (tranne la funzione scalare), in cui un approccio era il più veloce.

Conclusione:(come sempre :-) ) Dipende...

Suggerimento:la cosa migliore è lasciare che questo vada contro un grande database con molte tabelle e colonne.
